The perfect combination of Sicilian and Scottish for a new wine bar and cafe’, was realised following a visit to a local auction room.

The hammer coming down was on the Gavel not on the furniture purchased by Husband and Wife team, Steven Dalton and Laura Raimondi. It certainly hit the remit but some TLC was needed.

As Dovetail are easily accessible via their Showroom, it’s never known what will come through the doors. For this project it was antique cane furniture that was crying out to have a new lease of life.

Following a detailed discussion with Dovetail’s Polishing Supervisor a plan to bring the lounge furniture back to life was put in place. Although retaining the original look was important to the client, the refurbished product also had to befitting of a Sicilian themed wine bar and café.

La Sicilyana Italian Coffee Lounge and Wine Bar is a new and exciting addition to Scone village.  Italian coffee, Scottish home bakes or delightful Sicilian wines, where customers can rest easy on re-polished and re-upholstered antique furniture.

At Dovetail we know that every project is different, in type and scale. While not a large project, it was one that helped us bring some beautiful furniture back to life. In addition, it helped fulfill our aims of increasing our contribution to society.
